2018 was the year of the kitchen. Time for an update. The kitchen had done nearly 60 years service with only the replacement of the fridge and cooker
Keeping the kitchen cabinets on the East and South sides of the kitchen and having "in-keeping" cupboards built on the other sides was the plan
Bring the dishwasher into the kitchen, in years to come we will recall and laugh at it's original position in the porch, a bigger fridge and an oven that you don't need to climb inside to light were the remit
As we were for nearly 60 years
Mmmm ......... I'm not sure what David and Cecily Collett would think of the living room being used as a workshop!
Work in progress
Progress is being made by Christmas but there is still an unfortunate lack of doors.
John and Ros Collett and family guests were the first to experience the semi completed kitchen when they came to stay for New Year 2019. They managed to ignore the concrete floor, the semi fitted window sill and other noticably missing items like towel hooks and painted shelves.
Is it finished?
.................. very nearly, just the floor to be laid in mid February
The dishwasher is in the kitchen, as promised, the kitchen door now opens into the hall to give you space to open the new cooker
We will still get jams at the back door when the fridge is open
The only challenge is the cupboard above the fridge which is frankly very high!
