Accidents and Breakages
Please replace crockery and glasses etc.
There is no need to search for the old willow pattern design, plain white is now very much more in vogue and easier to find
If something more expensive is broken, please contact Nicky or Gail
Beds and Blankets
Bed Linen and Towels are stored in the airing cupboard in the downstairs front bedroom
Please wash, dry and put away any linen that you use prior to leaving.
If you need to leave towels drying please leave them in the boiler room
There are spare blankets in the drawers including the under bed drawers in the double bed room. Please put them away again when you leave
Mattress covers, pillow protectors and bedspreads are washed as often as we can manage. Please wash any soiled linen before leaving so that they are clean for the next visitors
Bicycles
Please pump up the tyres before use and repair any punctures. If they get muddy, they can be washed down with the hose and the there is oil in the garage for the chains. There is a bicycle shop at the north end of town at the end of the track leading to the common, opposite The Blyth
Cleaning
We have the house cleaned once a month.
Please clean or arrange for cleaning when you leave. This should be timed so that the house is clean for the next visitors when they arrive.

Dust bins
These are collected on Wednesday, alternating between black and blue bins

Waveney no longer recycle food waste with the garden waste and food waste should be put in the black bin.
Black bin - general refuse and food waste
Blue bin - recyling, plastic and cans (not glass)
Green bin - garden rubbish
Glass recycling points are opposite Southwold infant school and just beyond the public toilets north of the pier
Electricity and Gas
The gas meter and the main valve are in the kitchen cupboard to the left of the cooker
The electricity meter is in the cupboard under the stairs. The fuse box and circuit breakers are in the kitchen, high on the north wall
The circuit breaker for the garage power supply in on the wall to the right of the washing machine
Garden
Will the gardener comes periodically to cut the grass.
If you feel moved to do a little gardening while you are here, you will find tools in the garage. Please put garden rubbish in the green bin.

Hot Water
The boiler is in the boiler cupboard at the end of the hall. This is controlled by a time switch that is generally preset to come on twice a day. If you adjust this please return it to the minimum time settings before you leave.

Heating
The Gas Fire is controller by the knob on the right hand side. Occasionally strong winds may blow out the pilot light . Please see the leaflet in the white Useful Information file for relighting instructions.
Radiators in the sitting room, dining room and at the bottom of the stairs are heated by a boiler behind the gas fire. This is controlled by a time switch below the toaster. This is generally set to "off", but can be set to come on during cooler weather. Please return to the off setting when you leave
Electric Radiators each have their own thermostat. They should be set at the frost setting when the house is empty. When you staying in the cooler weather set the thermostats in the rooms you are using to the automatic setting, this will bring the heating on in the morning and evening. If you need a little more heat during the day the temperature can be turned up in the rooms you are using. Please read the instructions on the wall in the kitchen.
WHEN LEAVING PLEASE RETURN TO THE FROST SETTING.
Our heating bills are not insignificant, please help up to keep costs down.
Internet
The internet router is in the sitting room with the access code on the back of the router.
The house has a television licence so you are covered for use of iPlayer etc
Kitchen
Tea towels are kept in one of the drawers, please wash before you leave.
Cleaning products are in the cupboard under the sink with cloths to the left of the sink.
Brushes, the iron and ironing board are in the cupboard behind the kitchen door.
Keys
Window keys are generally hung on hooks below the windows, as are the keys for the patio door.
If you can't find keys, try looking in the carved cupboard in the hall, or the kitchen cupboard.
Model Yachts
You are welcome to sail the model yachts, but they are all sensitive and need treating with love and care. If repairs are needed please let Gail 07983 588 221 or Mark know
Parking
Please consider the neighbours when you park. You should be able to get 3 cars on the drive and 1 in the garage. Alternatively park on the road in front of the house
Repairs
We do not visit as often as we would like to so can be blissfully unaware when wear and tear means that items need repair or replacement. Please help us to keep the house in good order by letting us know when you find repairs are needed. Contact Gail or Nicky - see contact details on the Contact page

Visitors Book
Please sign the visitors book when you leave. This is usually on the front sitting room window sill or in the kitchen
Water
The main stopcock is situated in the shower room in the cupboard to the right of the loo.
It is advisable to run the water in the kitchen for a few minutes each morning before use
