Pickle Cottage lies on the outskirts of Tenterden, a convenient location from which to explore the Weald of Kent and its many local attractions.  

Tenterden is a "Cinque Port" and the town is known as the "Jewel of the Weald".  Its tree-lined High Street is full of modern and traditional shops and restaurants and the town boasts significant history.  William Caxton, famous for printing the first English book, is said to have been born in Tenterden and Lord Nelson's daughter, was the wife of the vicar of St Mildred's Church in Tenterden.  Every October, Tenterden hosts the famous 4 day Tenterden Folk Festival.
